Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday suggested that supporters of Kurdish militants locked in conflict with government troops should be stripped of their Turkish citizenship.

"We must take all measures, including stripping supporters of the terrorist organisation of their citizenship," Erdogan said in a speech in Ankara, referring to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which has claimed a string of attacks in Turkey in recent weeks.
