Anbar’s local official Saeed Rashid revealed the intensive presence of American troops in the international highway in the western side of the Iraqi city, saying that the borders between Syria, Iraq and Jordan are scheduled to be opened soon.
Rashid added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, that the current military operations witnessed in the western side of Anbar aim to open the borders between Iraq, Syria and Jordan and to prevent the extremist elements from using the borders to escape outside Iraq. He signaled that the Iraqi leadership promised to send huge number of troops to liberate the area from ISIS immediately after the liberation of Mousl.
In the same context, the local official stressed refusal to any potential demands for the establishment of any new military bases, saying that Joint Special Operations Command informed them they will take serious steps to liberate their areas after the liberation of Mousl.
He added, “The held a formal meeting at Ain Al Assad military base to announce that the military operation to liberate the western side of Anbar is linked the end of Nineveh’s liberation.” He added that American troops intensified their presence on the international highway near the islands of Khalediya and Ramadi, saying that the reasons of their deployment is not known.
He added that the deployment of the American troops has coincided with a decision to impose curfew in the areas that neighbor the sites of American troops presence. He revealed that the step to deploy the American troops came after unconfirmed leaks over the appointment of American security company to bear the responsibility of protecting the highway with the approval of the central government.
It is important to mention that the U.S Administration expressed its desire to keep its military presence in Iraq after liberating the country from the extremist elements
