Tunis - Hayat Al Ghanemi
Tunisian parliamentarian Zahra Edreis expressed her support for the reconciliation law, saying that the Tunisian authorities should distinguish between corrupt people on one hand and others who have no relation with corruption. She added that she will accept the new law if the Tunisian people found it credible, saying that some articles should be amended in the law as soon as possible.
She added, in an interview with “Arabs Today”, her position from the new law does not mean that she accepts to normalize relations with corrupt people or to ignore the violations they committed, while she gives priority to the interests of the country during the current critical period.
She denied what was published over problems with Tunisian politician Ahmed Al Zaqlawy, saying that Zaqlawy is considered close friend to her. She added that there are a number of coordinating committees that failed to resume working with him despite the attempts to bridge the gap of difference, saying that they turned to abandon him.
She added that she has no personal ambitions, as she spent twenty years in the municipality of Sousse and twenty years as head of a municipal department. She stressed that she works just to serve the interests of her Tunisia Appeal Party, saying that it will be important step for the party to win the coming provincial elections.
