Fabio Coentrao of Portugal signed a six-year, $43.4 million contract Tuesday with Real Madrid. The promising 23-year-old fullback joined Portugal's Benfica team in 2007 and also spent time on loan at Nacional, Zaragoza and Rio Ave. He made 26 appearances in 2009-10 for Benfica. He has played 15 times for Portugal since making his international debut in 2009.
