Former F1 racer Johnny Herbert has re-signed to compete in the Superstars International touring car series this season. Herbert will drive a Maserati Quattroporte in three events, starting with his home round at Donington Park later this month. The former Lotus, Benetton and Stewart driver will then compete in the events at Mugello in October and at the Sentul circuit in Indonesia in November. Herbert joins a number of other ex-F1 drivers on the grid, with Tonio Liuzzi. Mika Salo, Christian Fittipaldi and Gianni Morbidelli all competing in the series this season. “Racing in the Superstars Series last year was great and this year even more so because I will drive the Maserati I battled against so much,” he said. “It\'s the same car Salo and Fittipaldi are driving in their Superstars appearances so a bit of rivalry has developed between us when it comes to the results we can get. This rivalry is giving an extra element of competition to the racing. “I\'d like to invite all the British motorsport fans to the event at Donington to watch the challenge. I can\'t wait to see all the UK fans and I hope they will root for me!”
