Rain continued during Saturday\'s final free practice session for the Spanish MotoGP at Jerez. The track was wet throughout the 45-minute session and conditions worsened as the session went on, with early shadows replaced by large puddles. Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo and finally Dani Pedrosa led the timesheets, Pedrosa\'s place at the top for the second session in succession confirmed by heavier rain in the final ten minutes. The Repsol Honda\'s 1m 50.121s was under his best time in Friday afternoon\'s wet session, but over a second slower than Ivan Silva\'s damp FP1 best, when only eight riders set a time. 2011 Jerez winner and fellow home hero Lorenzo was 0.111s slower for Yamaha, with reigning champion Stoner 0.334s from the top in third. Nicky Hayden was the top Ducati (+0.374s) in fourth, with Tech 3 Yamaha\'s Cal Crutchlow the top satellite rider and only 0.571s from Pedrosa. A 0.9s gap separated Crutchlow from Ducati\'s Valentino Rossi, with Andrea Dovizioso (Tech 3), Stefan Bradl (LCR Honda), Karel Abraham (Cardion AB Ducati) and lead CRT rider Randy de Puniet (Aspar Aprilia) completing the top ten. Alvaro Bautista (Gresini Honda) walked away from a fast lowside fall at turn one with 15 minutes to go. The Spaniard finished the session in 15th.Qualifying takes place this afternoon.
