The German club has been told to name a new coach before their next league fixture following the refusal by the German Football League to extend his grace period as caretakerGerman outfit Hamburg have seen their request to continue with Rodolfo Cardoso as caretaker turned down by the German Football League (DFL).The former Argentine footballer has been in a caretaker role for the club\'s two previous Bundesliga matches, which included a victory over VfB Stuttgart, but he does not have a coaching license, and will therefore no longer be allowed to feature as the team\'s coach.Cardoso took over the role at Hamburg following the dismissal of Michael Oenning in September.\"The DFL has not granted Hamburger SV\'s wishes of an exception to the case of Cardoso,\" a statement by the DFL said.\"The DFL does not see any special conditions which would justify an extension of the 15-day grace period and a consequent exception to the statutes.\"While Hamburg have been granted a week to appeal the decision regarding Cardoso\'s position, the DFL has requested that a new coach be named before their next Bundesliga fixture against Freiburg on October 16.Hamburg currently find themselves at the bottom of the Bundesliga table with only one win from eight matches.
