Tyco TAS Suzuki\'s Alastair Seeley is confident his GSX-R1000 will enable him to challenge at the front at Thruxton this weekend. Seeley is currently second in the MCE British Superbike Championship after finishing as the runner-up in the wet behind Samsung Honda\'s Jon Kirkham at Brands Hatch on Easter Monday. The current British Supersport champion enjoys the high-speed characteristics of the Thruxton course and is hopeful of following up his excellent result at Brands Indy with another strong display on Sunday. “Last weekend was tough for everyone but we come here holding down second place in the championship,” said the Northern Irishman. “Thruxton is a totally different animal to the Indy Circuit at Brands, but I like the high-speed nature of the track and I\'m sure the new Tyco Suzuki GSX-R1000 package will have everything we need to be pushing at the sharp end.” His team-mate, Aussie Josh Brookes, is tenth in the standings after round one and like Seeley is looking forward to winding up the wick on the big Suzuki around the fast, flowing 2.3-mile circuit. ?“I\'m looking forward to Thruxton as it will gives us a great chance to stretch the legs of the new bike and it\'s more my type of circuit than Brands Indy,” he said. “I\'ve had success here before and I\'m feeling confident with the package we have this year. Last week we couldn\'t make the most of the pole position time, so hopefully we can turn that around here at Thruxton and score some big points.” Seeley was 20th in FP1 at Thruxton, with Brookes faring better in eighth position.
