Schalke president Clemens Tonnies is optimistic Raul will extend his contract by at least another year. The Spaniard\'s original two-year deal with the club expires at the end of June. However, the 34-year-old has recently indicated an interest in extending his deal and the club are working on an offer to convince him to do so. \"All of the signals coming from Raul in recent days have been extremely positive,\" Tonnies told Bild. \"He has already dropped anchor in Schalke and he identifies himself with the club and the fans. He really feels happy here.\" Earlier this week Raul declared his willingness to stay in Gelsenkirchen, saying he and his family had settled well in their Dusseldorf home and he was enjoying playing for the club. He told Spain\'s AS newspaper he expected a decision over his future to be made within a week. \"I have a very good feeling,\" Tonnies added. Raul scored ten goals in the first half of the Bundesliga season to keep Schalke within three points of the top of the table.
