Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath found little to be happy about in his side\'s 3-2 victory over Freiburg last night, a result which lifted them to their highest league position of the season. Woeful defending almost cost Die Wolfe all three points and Magath was critical of his team\'s performance, despite the victory. \"I can be neither happy nor proud about the way we won today,\" he said. \"There is no explanation for how we can start so strongly and go ahead as we wanted to, yet then we don\'t show any security in our game and we throw it away. Everybody wanted to run forwards, but only walk back - we were never in control of the situation and that is why we had difficulties.\" Petr Jiracek was on target twice for the home side with Marcel Schafer also scoring. However, Freiburg came from behind twice with goals from Johannes Flum and Daniel Caligiuri before Jiracek\'s second goal sealed the win, leaving Freiburg rooted to the foot of the table. The home team moved up to eighth in the table, but Magath still hit out at his team and was thankful one goal was allowed to stand despite a hint of offside. \"We were lucky to win,\" he said on his club\'s website. \"You have got to say that there are incorrect decisions in football that you have got to live with. However, these (decisions) often seem to go against the smaller clubs.\" Freiburg coach Christian Streich agreed with Magath\'s assessment of the game, and the refereeing. \"Unfortunately in football, there are often things that we are unable to influence,\" he said. \"Nevertheless, I congratulate Felix Magath and Wolfsburg on their victory.\"
