Top-seeded Roberta Vinci dropped just one game Tuesday in claiming a first-round win at the Budapest Grand Prix tennis tournament in Hungary. Vinci won six of her 10 break-point chances in a 6-1, 6-0 win over Lenka Jurikova. Vinci won more than two-thirds of the points off Jurikova's serve but had to fight off 11 break points. She lost one of those, her only game defeat in the match. No. 2-seeded Sara Errani also advanced to the second round, taking out Madalina Gojnea 6-3, 6-1. Errani landed 85 percent of her first serves, winning 69 percent of the points on serve, and lost her serve once against five service breaks. Eva Birnerova posted a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 upset of fourth-seeded Lucie Hradecka despite 10 double faults. Also, Zuzana Kucova claimed a tight 7-6 (7-2), 7-5 win over No. 6-seeded Mathilde Johansson. Qualifiers Estrella Cabeza Candela and Aleksandra Krunic made the second round. Cabeza Candela topped Corinna Dentoni 6-3, 6-1 while Krunic was up 7-5, 1-0 when Nina Bratchikova retired. Also, wild-card entrant Timea Babos defeated Anna Remondina 6-3, 7-6 (7-4). Other first-round matches saw Kateryna Bondarenko beat Katalin Marosi 6-3, 6-4; Lesia Tsurenko get past Reka-Luca Jani 3-6, 7-5, 6-2; and Stefanie Voegele edge Petra Martic 7-5, 7-5.
