The expanded security campaign south of Sheikh Zuwayed and Rafah in North Sinai governorate on Tuesday resulted in killing 15 takfiris and destroying a number of terrorist cells.
Security sources said quantities of materials used in making bombs and explosive charges were also found during the campaign in which warplanes and ground troops were used.
Army and police troops were combing parts of North Sinai to hunt down the terrorists across the governorate.
