At least four people were killed and 17 others injured in clashes between protesters and the security forces across Egypt on Sunday as the country marks the fourth anniversary the revolution of January 25, 2011.
The deaths include two persons who were killed while trying to plant a bomb on a bridge in Beheira Governorate and a third person in clashes in Alexandria, spokesman of the Ministry of Health Dr. Hosam Abdulghaffar said.
The three victims and 14 wounded persons were rushed to nearby hospitals, he added.
Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry said a policeman was killed and three others were injured in clashes between supporters and opponents of the Muslim Brotherhood in Al-Mataria district, east Cairo.
The four security men sustained bullet wounds and one of them succumbed to his injury later on, the ministry said in a press release, noting that some residents of the area were wounded and hospitalized.
