Four people were killed and 19 others injured when a fire broke out in a private hospital in Glim area in Alexandria on Monday.

The deaths were due to suffocation, a security source said.

Civil protection cars rushed to the scene.

The fire broke out in the x-ray section of the hospital because of a short circuit.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze.
