An amount of explosives and two bombs were seized late Monday at an apartment in Mahalla city, Gharbia governorate, an official at the Interior Ministry's media center said on Tuesday.

The two bombs were defused in an uninhibited area, he said.

Receiving a report on smoke stemming from the Mahalla apartment, security forces were immediate to 

the scene where they found highly explosive materials and the bombs.
