Two militants accused of assassinating Brigadier Adel Raga'i and carrying out an attack on a security checkpoint were killed in a shootout in Monufia governorate Saturday, a statement by the Interior Ministry said.

Security investigations revealed that the two militants of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood were involved in the two attacks, the statement added.

A car used in the assassination of Raga'i was found in the Ismailia Canal of Qaliubiya governorate, and the investigation revealed that it was bought with a fake national ID and without being officially registered, the statement said.

A garden, used by the perpetrators as an organizational headquarters to plan their crimes and hide tools and weapons used in incidents, has been identified in a village of Monufia's Sadat city, the statement added.

The garden is owned by an MB fugitive, and was used by MB militants in making explosive charges and booby-trapping cars, the statement said.

Five automatic rifles, three pistols, bullets, bombs and tools used in manufacturing explosive charges were found at the garden, it added.

Some automatic rifles were stolen by the terrorists after their terror attacks, the statement said.

Another car was found and investigations revealed that it was illegally bought to be used in terror attacks, it added.

All legal actions were taken, and the Supreme State Security Prosecution received the case file for investigations.
