The body of a police officer who was assassinated early on Thursday was laid to rest in his hometown in Menoufia governorate.

A military funeral, led by Menoufia and Qalyubia governors, was held for the martyr in Shanshour village.

Head of the Shoubra el Kheima criminal investigation department Mostafa Lotfi was killed while hunting down two dangerous criminals.

Two other policemen were injured in the shootout with the wanted criminals charged with killing four policemen and injuring others in Khanka district.
