A six-storey building in Sharqia's town of Minya El Qamh collapsed Monday.

A security source said that an unspecified number of casualties was reported.

Civil defense forces, fire trucks and ambulances were rushed to the scene.

Efforts to dug victims out of rubble were underway, the source added.
