Egypt's Interior Ministry said security forces killed a terrorist in an exchange of fire in 6th of October City in Giza.
The ministry said in statement that the national security sector received confirmed information that some militants from the Harakat Hasm had planned to hold a meeting.
The forces dealt with the situation, and killed a terrorist and seized large amounts of ammunition, the statement added, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
On Thursday, security forces raided a hideout of gunmen in Asiut killing seven terrorists, the Ministry of Interior said.
The ministry said the gunmen were involved in recent terror attacks, including blasts that targeted Christian churches.
On Thursday, the government agreed to prolong the state of emergency for three months across the country.
The state of emergency was declared on April 10, 2016 after explosions targeted two churches, killing and wounding scores of people.
