Fire set out by prisoners at Khanka police station in Qaliobiya governorate was contained on Tuesday.

None of the prisoners managed to escape and they were sent to other prisons until fixing the damage left over by the fire, Qaliobiya Security Chief Said Shalaby said.

Prisoners manipulated the death of one of their inmates - who was suffering from a bad health condition - and set their blankets ablaze.

The dead prisoner - who was suffering from Hepatitis C - was held in a drug case.
