Civil defense troops were able to put out a fire that erupted inside a cafeteria at Al Azhar University early Monday.

The fire was caused by a short circuit and resulted in the explosion of a gas cylinder inside the cafeteria.

No word of casualties was reported, a statement by the Interior Ministry said.

The prosecution was notified to start an investigation.
