A homemade bomb blew up Thursday outside a police station in New Cairo, leaving no casualties, a security source at the Interior Ministry said.

Unidentified men threw the bomb in front of the Eastern Ring Road police station, damaging only its door, the source told MENA.

Efforts are underway to arrest the attackers, he added
