The bomb blast that took place under Qoba bridge early Thursday left three youths wounded, said deputy Cairo Governor Ahmed Daif.
He told MENA that the wounded were ambulanced to a nearby hospital.
Earlier reports said a girl was wounded in the explosion.
Sappers are combing the area in search of other explosives.
