The National Bank of Egypt's Seyouf district branch and a branch of a private bank in el Assafra neighborhood, eastern Alexandria, came under machine gun fire and Molotov cocktails attacks on Monday but no casualties were reported.
The National Bank of Egypt and Emirates NBD Bank branches in Seyouf and el Assafra came under simultaneous attacks by unidentified gunmen who fled the scene after causing panic among clients and pedestrians.
Gunmen threw Molotov cocktails at the bank's entrance while other criminals fired shots in the vicinity of the UAE bank's branch. The two attacks were not for robbery but acts of terrorism.
