A stun grenade went off near the Fayyoum Stadium early Saturday causing damage to a power kiosk and leading to a blackout in a number of neighborhoods in the Upper Egyptian city for a few minutes.

No word of human casualties was reported.

Sappers rushed to the scene and examined the grenade. They said the explosion was caused by a makeshift bomb.
