Minister of Interior Daho Ould Kablia said that Algeria has mobilised all "necessary" means to defend its sovereignty and territorial unity, stressing "the importance of vigilance "to deal with the security threat. "In addition to the existing measures, the State, aware of the threat (terrorism), has mobilized all means to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity," said Ould Kablia during a plenary session of the national People’s Assembly (NPC) devoted to oral questions. He said that the borders have been closed since the outbreak of fighting in northern Mali "to prevent any infiltration of armed terrorist groups in our country," emphasizing the reinforcement of security measures at the level of public infrastructures of sovereignty and sensitive strategic sites including ports and airports. He also stressed that security was strengthened at the sites hosting companies particularly foreigners and their base de vies to protect them from any sabotage.
