Hundreds of Algerian army and security forces were deployed along borders between Algeria and Mali after a border guard was shot dead on Saturday.
The forces combed desert areas and all houses located near the borders to arrest the attackers, Al-Khabar newspaper out Monday reported.
Eleven people, including four Malian nationals, were arrested over suspected involvement in the shooting incident.
A security source said two unidentified persons fired ten bullets at the border guard while driving his personal car and reportedly fled to northern Mali.
