Two hundred and twenty six people were killed and 5311 others were injured in 4354 road accidents which occurred during the third trimester of 2014 in urban areas, according to the report published Sunday by the General Directorate of the National Police (DGSN).
The human factor remains the cause of 96.64% of these accidents notably speeding, overtaking, tailgating, and the negligence of pedestrians, added the source.
The DGSN, which said that 36.369 driver’s licenses were withdrawn and 6.373 vehicles were impound during the same period, called all users to respect the Highway Code.
