A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck China's Ludian County in southwest China's Yunnan Province at 4:59 p.m. on Wednesday, the China Earthquake Networks Center said.
The epicenter was monitored at 27.1 degrees north latitude and 103.4 degrees east longitude, with its epicenter 10 km deep, the center said.
No casualties had been reported so far.
Yunnan is prone to earthquakes. A 6.5-magnitude earthquake in Ludian in the northeast of Yunnan on Aug. 3 killed more than 600 people and destroyed 80,000 homes.
