An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted Kuril Islands at 18:03:00 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicenter, with a depth of 72.6 km, was initially determined to be at 48.2682 degrees north latitude and 154.1061 degrees east longtitude.
