An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted Ryukyu Islands, Japan at 18:57:54 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicenter, with a depth of 53.28 km, was initially determined to be at 28.928 degrees north latitude and 129.6565 degrees east longtitude.
