An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted 18 km south-southwest of Ashkasham, Afghanistan at 14:21:40 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicenter, with a depth of 86.01 km, was initially determined to be at 36.5411 degrees north latitude and 71.4335 degrees east longtitude.
