An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted off the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 00: 57:12 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicenter, with a depth of 35.30 km, was initially determined to be at 37.7638 degrees north latitude and 143.5841 degrees east longitude.
