An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted North Indian Ocean at 18:12:27 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 15.23 km, was initially determined to be at 1.9543 degrees north latitude and 89.6249 degrees east longitude.
