An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted 7km N of Uto, Japan 07:02:03 GMT on Saturday, the US Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 16.2 km, was initially determined to be at 32.7466 degrees north latitude and 130.6675 degrees east longitude.
