An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted New Britain region, Papua New Guinea Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicenter, with a depth of 69.00 km, was initially determined to be at 6.6421 degrees south latitude and 149.8013 degrees east longitude.
