An magnitude-5.5 earthquake jolted 42 km southwest of Balkh, Afghanistan at 13:45:27 GMT on Saturday (21:45:27 Beijing time), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 23.7 km, was initially determined to be at 36.5065 degrees north latitude and 66.5321 degrees east longitude.
