An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted Ryukyu Islands at 01:22:44 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicenter, with a depth of 27.90 km, was initially determined to be at 28.0738 degrees north latitude and 129.4329 degrees east longitude. There are so far no reports of casualties or property damage.
