An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale jolted Easter Island region at 06:53:13 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 26.6255 degrees south latitude and 114.4561 degrees west longitude.
