An earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale jolted south of the Fiji Islands on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said. The epicenter, with a depth of 578 km, was initially determined to be at 24.6 degrees south latitude and 179.3 degrees east longitude.
