Drum seismograph records the shaking of the ground

A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.1 hit off the northeast coast of Japan on Friday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 13.54 km, was initially determined to be at 39.8472 degrees north latitude and 143.569 degrees east longitude.
Earlier this week, an earthquake of 6.9 magnitude struck off the northeast coast, triggering a tsunami warning.
