Drum seismograph records the shaking of the ground

A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Taitung of Taiwan island early Saturday, said the China Earthquake Networks Centre.
The quake occurred at 4.06am Beijing time and was 7 km deep with its epicenter located at 22.6 degrees north latitude and 121.5 degrees east longitude, according to Xinhua news agency.
No casualties or damage have been reported so far.
Taiwan’s earthquake monitoring department said nearly the entire island was affected by the quake to varied intensities.
