A strong quake struck off Japan's southern Bonin Islands

 An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted Bonin Islands, Japan region at 03:55:32 Beijing Time on Tuesday (19:55:32 GMT on Monday), the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 512.4 km, was initially determined to be at 28.3536 degrees north latitude and 138.864 degrees east longitude. .
