An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted off the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 22:21: 45 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicenter, with a depth of 9.70 km, was initially determined to be at 39.8527 degrees north latitude and 143.0466 degrees east longitude.
