An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted 69 km SSW of Redoubt Volcano, Alaska at 0235 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 124 km, was initially determined to be at 59.9 degrees north latitude and 153.2 degrees west longitude.
