A 6.6-magnitude earthquake rocked the region around Valparaiso, Chile on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The seismological service said a preliminary report showed the quake was centered about 50 kilometers northeast of Valparaiso, at a depth of about 32 kilometers.
Electricity, cellphones, internet and telephone service was interrupted in some areas, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or serious damage from the quake.
The Chile Navy said that there was no danger of tsunami.
