An earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale jolted 197km SSE of Mata-Utu, Wallis and Futuna at 17:15:10 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 14.9 degrees south latitude and 175.4 degrees west longitude.
