A 7.1-magnitude earthquake jolted northwest part of Kuril Islands at 11:38 a.m. Tuesday Beijing Time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center. The epicenter was monitored at 52.9 degrees north latitude and 152.6 degrees east longitude, the center said.
