A 7.1-magnitude earthquake struck off the Aleutian Islands in Alaska Friday. A tsunami warning was issued, then canceled, media report said. The earthquake hit in a sparsely populated region and there were no reports of damage or injuries, authorities said. The epicenter of the quake, about 21 miles deep, was about 45 miles southeast of Amukta Pass, Alaska, 107 miles east of Atka, Alaska, and 1,659 miles west-southwest of Anchorage, the US Geological Survey said.
