British Astronomical Association (BAA) published in its specialized scientific magazine photographs of a rare astronomical phenomenon taken by the Kuwaiti astronomer Khaled Al-Jamaan.
The images, documented and published by the BAA, show a rare astronomical phenomenon of the planet Venus passing directly between the sun and the earth, a transit that would not occur again for another 105 years, Al-Jamaan told KUNA.
The BAA chose the images taken by Al-Jamaan after collecting photographs of astronomers who have followed and documented this phenomenon throughout the globe, starting from South Australia crossing Kuwait and ending in the United States. Photos of best quality and scientific value were selected.
He pointed out importance of communication with the BAA that was founded in 1820 because of the contributions in the field of astronomy at both European and international levels.
